José Luis Infiesta, the CEO and founder of YASYT Robotics, explains the origin of the name and what it means.
Since school I have always been fascinated by the great French philosopher, physicist and mathematician René Descartes and his famous phrase: “I think, therefore I am”.
What excites me is the idea that we become aware of our own existence through the power of thought.
We are now faced by a new reality. Robots are already part of our world, and this presents us with a major challenge: we need to teach them to think, to endow them with intelligence, and day by day, to empower them to live with us, provide us with support, help us to grow and improve our lives.
Descartes’ famous phrase is “I think, so I am”, and I would love to speak to robots and tell them that they exist and soon they are going to think.
It excites me to imagine that if the famous thinker were amongst us now he would tell them “You are, so you think”. The initials of the words in that phrase make up our name: YASYT
